Maranatha Academy encourages their students to become active in their community and we have seen this happen on several occasions. Over the years, our
students have found wide varieties of interest by which they could serve and we would like you to see a few examples below:
- In 1998, we had four students actively volunteer much of their free time to helping a candidate from Stephens Point, Wisconsin campaign for the
House of Representatives in the 7th Congressional District. They volunteered to help him at festivals around the state when there were parades and
they also frequently helped with literature drops and handing out yard signs. The students’ involvement continued in many other ways throughout the
year, and now Maranatha Academy even has one of their own alumni campaigning for Congress in the same district in 2006!
- Maranatha Academy has had a very dedicated group of high school and junior high students volunteer for the pro-life movement throughout the past
few years in which they have had the opportunity to participate in multiple fund-raising projects for the local Life Care Center and also attend annual
National Right to Life Conventions. We were even proud enough to say that throughout the years of our student’s participation, we have had two of
Wisconsin’s Teens for Life Presidents attend and graduate from our school!
- The Boy Scouts also have history at Maranatha Academy dating back several years. Just recently, we had one of our young students complete his
Eagle Scout qualifications by creating a nature trail with the enlisted help of classmates. With even just this one example, we also are proud to
say that Maranatha Academy has had several young men in the past that have continued through the Boy Scout program to attain the status of Eagle
Scout!
