Elementary Students are encouraged to become involved in community offered sports programs such as those at the YMCA, Parks and Rec, or at the Salvation
Army. These sports often include and are not limited to soccer, tag football, softball, hockey, baseball, and basketball. Parents are encouraged to
organize groups of students to form a team of Maranatha Academy students so that they might have their own identity. The parents should also shoulder
the responsibility of providing for the coaching, hopefully done by one of the interested and able parents. Home school children may be encouraged to
join these teams as well as other church friends when additional players are needed. These teams, while comprised of Maranatha students, will not be
considered school teams and will not wear school identification logo or name.
Maranatha will sponsor the following teams and coaches for these teams:
- Fall Girls' Volleyball with area Christian School Leagues
- Fall co-ed soccer for secondary high school students affiliated with area Christian School Leagues
- Fifth and Sixth grade Boys' and Girls' Basketball with area SBA
- Junior High Girl's Basketball with area SBA
- Junior High Boys' Basketball with area SBA
- Either of the Junior High Teams may decide to be on the Great Northwest traveling team, depending on the availability of coaching and desires of the parents.
- Varsity Girls' Basketball with ACSI
- Varsity Boys' Basketball with ACSI
- Spring Track and Field co-ed High School Team with area Christian Schools and only as there is student interest and coach availability.
- High School Golf
Please Note: Because Maranatha is a small school, the possibility of having a team in a given sport will be determined by the number of students
interested and the ability of the school to find a coach for the sport.
